Request for Proposals

This year’s Worlds of Wisdom Trainer Summit will be October 6 -7, 2017, at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd, Minnesota. It’s an opportunity to foster a community of practice and professional development opportunities for all trainers and Relationship Based Professional Development Specialists approved by the Minnesota Center for Professional Development (MNCPD).

Application Deadline

Submit your application for the conference by March 31, 2017. Applicants will be notified of decisions no later than May 31, 2017. More than one application may be submitted. Faxed or mailed proposals will not be considered.

Qualifications

  • Approved through MNCPD preferred
  • Training level must be at Master Trainer or Higher Education
  • Present informative and relevant content to Minnesota’s training professionals

Summit Goals

  1. Provide professional development opportunities for trainers of all levels
  2. Build relationships and allow for networking
  3. Ethical parameters of trainers

Application Tips

  • Your proposal will be scored based on the following criteria:
    • Relevance to the Summit Goals (listed above)
    • Engages participants in meaningful learning
    • Intentionality/Application: Encourages participant reflection and offers applications methods
    • Evidence Based: Session is grounded in theory, research, or best practice
    • Proposal is well written: Professional tone, grammar, spelling
  • What is unique or innovative about the topic that you want to share?
  • Do you have a challenge you would like to lay out and work with others to solve or exchange ideas on?
  • Diversity of presenters is a high priority. Do your proposed presenters include persons of color?
  • Reflect on your topic from a racial equity perspective. Does your approach to creating a high-quality system that is responsive to the diversity of children’s abilities, race, culture and language take equity into consideration?
  • Think interactive in your session. Emphasize discussion and not talking heads.

Presenter Registration and Compensation

  • One free presenter registration per session. All other session presenters will need to pay for the day they are attending the Summit.
  • Compensation is paid per session:
    • $375 per 2-hour session
    • $500 per 3-hour session
