Ann McCully Appointed to Governor’s Early Learning Council
On September 14, 2016, Governor Mark Dayton announced the latest appointments to the Early Learning Council, including Ann McCully, executive director at Child Care Aware® of Minnesota.
“Everyone benefits when children arrive at kindergarten ready to learn, so I’m excited to work on these important issues that impact Minnesota’s children and their access to quality care,” McCully said.
The Early Learning Council brings together several early education leaders to discuss issues and recommend legislation to the Governor and Children’s Cabinet. The goal is to create a high-quality early childhood system in Minnesota that improves educational outcomes for all children.
As the executive director for 14 years and member of the Child Care Aware® of America Board of Directors, McCully has witnessed the important shift in conversation around child care and early education.
“Minnesota doesn’t ask if it should invest in early childhood anymore, it asks how it should invest,” McCully said. “This Council is another sign of important progress toward making quality care accessible to all Minnesota families.”
